Despite the negative reviews, my experience at this hospital was outstanding. I arrived today struggling to breathe, and I was immediately assisted by a nurse in the emergency room. Understandably, I was still in my sleepwear since it was an emergency, and I had no time to prepare. It took about 30 minutes for my number to be called. The doctor was incredibly kind and attentive, guiding me through the process. Shortly after, I underwent an ECG and received the necessary medication. Within 30-40 minutes, the doctor called me back with my results, and I was relieved to hear that everything was fine. Overall, I spent just over 7,000+ (including the medicine) for two hours of consultation, and I believe the quality of care I received was well worth it. I highly recommend this hospital for anyone in need of urgent medical attention! -

Great place! Great hospital care! The doctors and nurses and staff are very accommodating and helpful. My mother had a total abdominal hysterectomy here. Most of the expenses can be covered by your health insurance. However, expect a unique cash out payment of about 5,000 php or more for “medicine management.” Not too bad. Even during discharge the nursers are still very helpful. Thank you, MMC! -

Came in via ambulance from the airport and was impressed by how quick and efficiently I was seen to, tests were undertaken and how quickly I had a diagnosis. All staff treated me with compassion and explained things clearly in English which was super helpful! Not somewhere you want to visit on holiday, but they definitely made it a more positive experience. -

Great service from the doctors and nurses at the ER and admission dept. I was well taken cared during my 4 days admission. The rooms are very clean and comfortable for me to recover. 👌 -

Honestly, its a great hospital, all the negative reviews are about emergency response that is mostly unsatisfactory. But when my father and I got into a road accident, we were treated fairly and received treatment accordingly. We all like this hospital but Im surprised to see how many here had bad experiences. I guess we never had an issue so we didnt feel the need to check or even write reviews. For the rest like lab tests and checkups, me and my family only had positive experience here. The lab tests are quick unless its the kind that takes days. The claiming process is efficient too. Me and my siblings had a pediatrician here who we visited since childhood. Were all lucky we never experienced issues with the hospital. For emergencies, its certainly more satisfactory at St. Lukes but this one is the nearest to us and were lucky to never have anything to complain about. -

I dont get the negative reviews but we had the best experience here in Makati med. My son got admitted for 4 days and we received the best care and service. The nurses and doctors are friendly. -

It is hard to review hospitals because everyone has a different experience. This is my second time visiting making medical hospital.Makati medical center is organized and easy to find. The staff were friendly and helpful. There are few coffee shops and fast food restaurants in case you need to eat something.I was very satisfied, my doctor was very knowledgeable and he gave me good advice -

The hospital was great and all the staff are approachable and friendly. The place is a bit cold so you need to have a thick clothings if your going to visit someone or wanting to be admitted if your at the Emergency Room. The ER was quite cold when I went there because my tummy is really hurt. An the pain was mostly in the inside. It makes me cry and want to shout because the pain was unbearable. Medical staffs immediately assisted me and inject me directly with a pain reliever. -

Had a seamless experience booking my procedures (EMG-NCS) at MMC! Cherry from the Department of Neurological Sciences was incredibly helpful—she provided clear pricing details, guided me through the process, and quickly found an available timeslot. Everything was arranged effortlessly over Viber while I was at work. Truly appreciated the hassle-free service! Now all i have to do is show up on my booked date! -

Review 11 (2019-10-02 - Rating: 4)
Probably the best hospital in the country. It has the the best collection of doctors in the country. Its facilities and equipment may not be the best in the Metro but the combination of skills make this the first choice among hospitals. The only major problem is the traffic coming here any time of the day. The traffic can literally kill.I have mixed feelings about this hospital being one of the first children born here after it opened to seeing first my grandparents then my parents, in-laws and friends spend their last hours here. -

NICU nurses and docs were the absolute best during my sons surgical procedure. The entire medical team—surgeon, anesthesiologist, OB-GYN, and pediatrician—were exceptional. I cant thank them enough for their dedication and care. Kudos to a fantastic team! A forever grateful mom :) -

I have read the reviews before going to this hospital and I still went here for my allergic reaction and bacterial infection to see for myself rather than rely on reviews. Contrary to what others have experienced, I was assisted immediately in the ER and was transferred to a room after 3 hours. The Doctors and nurses here are very nice and so warm towards me - Dra. Gloria, Dra. Ma. Teresa Torres and the Infection Doctor - I forgot his name, and all the rest of the Doctors that came in the room 1739 (my room during my stay) are very accommodating and super nice. The Ultrasound Guy Nurse have explained everything really well about the stones in my kidneys, and the condition of my uterus, I appreciate him for explaining everything that I needed to know and what actions to take afterwards, he is very patient and gentle with all of my questions. Also, The Nurse that was in charge of me during my second night was very caring, I EXTREMELY appreciate her I really wish I can remember her name, all I know about her is that she has a singkit eyes (forgive me for the term but thats all I can remember about her facial features since I forgot her name). I can feel that shes not just doing her job but has extreme care and love for her patients ❤️ Overall I have a very great experience. Our discharged process was also smooth and okay. Thank you Makati Med for taking care of me 🤍 -

Makati Medical Center will care for you. From setting an appointment, undergoing procedures, and post treatment, they were very helpful, professional, polite, and I can tell they really like their jobs. The prices of the procedures in their Endoscopy and Gastroenterology Department are quite steep, but the overall great experience makes up for it.I would definitely recommend Makati Med, specifically Dr. Angelo Lozada for all your Gastroenterology needs. Two thumbs up! 5 Stars! -

This review is more aimed at the doctor who helped me, Dr. Noel V. Lagman, who did an incredible job of describing the situation and the procedure before helping me. After nearly 4 weeks of walking with a flesh wound on the shin, he was the first to describe why healing is slower than normal and what can help to improve it, before helping me clean the wound. Much appreciated. -

My friend was admitted and I had to assist her. The service and nurses are amazing. Everything was explained before any procedures. Every time they will knock on the door before coming on. Everyday cleaning. Everything smells cleans and is pleasantly fragrant.I really appreciated nurse Ria she is one of the best I’ve seen here. All shouts kindness and professionalism. She stood out for me.Overall the nurse ate friendly, caring and ever so smiling.Great hospital with good organisation but lack of chairs in hallways maybe. I stood for a long time in the hallway while doctor was inside the patients room on 9th floor. But overall pleasant experiences. -

I was a Walk-in Outpatient and came around 3:30PM. For Pelvic Ultrasound I headed straight to Tower 2 5th Flr.There was an an on-floor receptionist who approached me just as I walked out of the elevator. (Which was great!) He assisted me in getting my number for registration, a step needed prior to being called inside the Ultrasound Room. The wait for registration was only 5mins, you’ll need your lab request from your OB for this. The cashier/counter was just beside it, no need to go downstairs/ move to other bldgs to process your payment ☺️Staff were kind, the sonologist was female (upon your request). The ultrasound’s whole duration was 30-45mins, depending on the position of the baby. They were patient in assessing the scan, also made sure me and my partner were included in the experience. ☺️You can also request for a gender scan, with no additional charge. Which we did, and was given to us in a sealed envelope.Overall, 10 out of 10 for this. Thank you, Makati Med! 🥰 -

My sister gave birth here. It was a good experience for her. She was well taken care of and guided by the medical team from delivery to lactation. Since its her first baby the doctors taught her proper latching/breastfeeding. My niece who was delivered prematurely was also well looked after in the NICU. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ -

Stayed here for a BL, BA,TT & MR in the private suites. Staff cleaned my room thoroughly everyday. Nursing staff were very attentive and made sure every need was seen to promptly. They were extremely kind and patient. My pain management, hospital cleanliness and care was much better than I have ever received in Australia in the three private hospitals Ive had surgeries in. Highly recommended 👌🏽! -

I have now visited several times, and seen 3 differnt Consultants, and I can only say my experience has been very positive.Good facilities, Dr Lorenzo in Rhumatology and Dr Wencelas in Cardiology, were both not only extremely through, their manner was extemely professional, curtious and gave the feeling they had all the time in the world for you.My experience is limited to the UK health services and clinics in Thailand and the Philippines, but I have to say I am very impressed with my experience Makati Med and wouldnt hesitate to recommend this hospital to other foriegners who maybe wary about the level uof health care in the Philippines -

Very good experience. Went in at midnight with extreme ear pain. I was seen by a doctor within about 30-40 min. Received treatment shortly after. The nurses and doctors were very friendly. The nurse that put my IV in did a perfect job. Went I. First try and barely a mark left when I took the bandaid off. Very reasonably priced. Around $100 US dollars for the whole treatment and overnight stay. Just as good of a hospital as back home in Canada, actually quicker service here! I give Makati Medical Center 5 stars! Thanks again! -
Review 29 (2022-07-25 - Rating: 5)
Their quality of service is better specially for HMO patients. There are big HMO care centers so they can cater higher volume of people in shorter time. Also ER is better and they have respond faster. Down side: Difficult to navigate inside the building, there are 3 towers so make sure where you are going exactly. -

I have to say I am very very impressed with the service at this hospital. My mom went for a check up and the doctor requested for an xray. We went down from the clinic to radiology. They have a receptionist there. You get a number and they have a monitor for the cue. And then to the counter for registration, then cashier and off to xray then 10 minutes later we were at releasing and got the results. Super fast. Very smooty and efficient. Then back to the clinic. Then i wondered if the ultrasound would have the same fast service. My mom needs an ultrasound requwsted by another doctor. So we were walk in patients at radiology and we got the same efficient, realible and super fast service. asian Hospital can not touch Makati Meds toes. Bravo. -

To start with, I am an MD and worked as both general and orthopedic surgeon. The quality of care is excellent. All the physicians I have encountered were really good. That does not mean they always agree, but that is normal and to be expected. I had two operations, both well carried out. Also the anesthesiologist, the same both times, was really good and professional. -

Review 36 (2016-02-11 - Rating: 5)
Our five year old son was sick so we took him to Makati Medical Center. As a white foreigner whos been in the Philippines for six years, I had my reservations due to past medical experiences at hospitals in some of the provinces- the focus was more on my nationality, what the doctors, nurses, etc. thought of my country, their attempts to convince me I had such a perfect life all because my Government was so good, etc. Once, when I had Dengue fever, I had to change by own IVs for three days, because the nurses refused to because when they asked me if I financially supported my wifes family, I told them that no, I did not. Then of course, theres always the skin tax that can be quite frightening come bill time.I did not experience any of this ignorance at Makati Medical Center. Every single person we came into contact with, from the guards up to the doctors were extreme professionals. The medical staff focused exclusively on my son and his condition. They gave him exceptional medical care, explained fully how we were to care for him until hes completely recovered, and my nationality never came up a single time, as it never should in the first place. And the price? Not only was it what I would consider fair, it was less than Id imagined! I was not treated like a foreigner by the professionals at Makati Medical Center. I was treated like a human being, and they provided both service and medical care that would rival ANY Ive ever received at the best hospitals in the United States! If you are in Manila, and especially if you are a visitor from another nation, and you need medical care, go to Makati Medical Center! -

I was so impressed. I had to have stitches removed while traveling. Turned with no appointment. I saw a great doctor - Dr. Benedict Barreto - in less than half an hour. He was careful and kind. He gave me lots of good advice without rushing at all. I was impressed with everyone. -

The staff I met in the lab Vincent was very very helpful. With the keep changing covid19 travel policy/requirements, he explained to me clearly what they can provide and tried hard to fulfill the requests that my destination needed. And they worked very efficiently and followed through the whole process. A very good experience indeed. -

The first time I went to this hospital, I visited a relative who was confined. I was starstruck by the architecture of Makati Med. The hospital has three towers connected by bridges. There are signages everywhere so you can navigate your way without asking employees for help. They also provide free wifi in the lobby for two hours. There are fastfoods inside the hospital so you dont need to go outside just to eat.The hallways are clean and the restrooms are equipped with automatic hand dryers and soap dispensers. The staff are also friendly and helpful. Overall, I enjoyed my visit to this hospital. I think the patients can agree with me when I say healthcare here is money well spent. Keep up the good work! -
Review 41 (2021-03-11 - Rating: 5)
I gave it 5 star because of experience.People have different experience and opinion but I think we should understand from average to critical treatment as well doctors and nurses doing there best to provide treatment because they are not robot. They have to check, diagnosed and treatment but sometime people provide inaccurate information whats your their problem that might help fast tracing of the problem then provide proper treatment. For the price, yes prices but money ca earned again but life once lost there is no going back.Lastly thank you for giving my 3rd life by Dr. Lozada. And thru doctors and stuff taking good care of grandmother when she was hospital here but sadly pass away last Feb 2020 due to all and car accident (hit by a car) that deteriorate her condition (after 3 years). -

MMC is without a doubt one of the best hospitals here in PH if you gonna compare it to other provincials and private. Doctors are good. I have many illness already that they cured. This is my moms fave too even tho she got sick in Canada, she still went back to PH for her check-up etc.Well, it is sad to see on the reviews that some doctors are money oriented, theyre rare and hopefully MMC will look into it. -

In my experience when we were confined last January nurses in the covid floor were generally helpful specially the elderly. Except for the nurse incharge of billing for that floor who gave an- i dont care - attitude when sought assistance on my billing.Nurses specially in the voiding sections were clearly models of commitment and putting their heart in their work. -

My first operation done here and i had the best service from the surgeon himself, doctors secretary ,nurses, hmo rep and personells who assisted me with paperworks. Great Service. The best facility great food and very nice room fast wifi with cable tv . Complete toiletries and i hope i wont get sick again but if ever i would still choose Makati Med. Surprisingly its not too expensive. Getting sick is stressfull enough but the service they give to patients is comforting. Thanks so much. -

Id like to commend Makati Medical Center for taking care of my son earlier this morning. We have been to several hospitals and all of them refused to take my son as they have same pathetic reasons that they are full and they didnt even bother to check his condition. ONLY Makati Med took time to check his vitals without questioning if we can pay them or not. Thats the service that every Filipino deserve. Kudos to you guys! If only I could give you 100 stars. Keep it up! -

I was diagnosed for a cataract surgery in American Eye Center but as I was having a nagging feeling about my consultation, I decided to take a second opinion in Makati Med. (A close friend recommended to me Dr. Edward Uy who operated on his cataract 4 years ago. He was extremely satisfied with the result of his operation and is no longer using eyeglasses.)Makati Med staff were very helpful and friendly including the parking security. They are very organised and the facilities are excellent. Doctor Uy was also very patient in clarifying my concerns.I informed him that he was my second opinion and I am already scheduled for surgery in American Eye. However, after weighing my confidence level between doctors, Ive decided to have him do the surgery.I am still recuperating from the surgery but my vision have already improved SIGNIFICANTLY! It is AMAZING. If you need to have cataract surgery - dont hesitate. Consult Dr. Edward Uy in Room 200 of Makati Med.(You can also read my experience about American Eye Center.) -

In 2012, I had my MRI of my cervical spine. I was given TWO ORIGINAL copies of the results plus a CD copy in a wonderful case. This year, I really feel relieved that I had kept those precious documents for SSS use. I didnt have to sweat it out to return to MMC for those documents. It pays to be conscientious with ones medical records and to deal with a trusted brand! -

This hospital is very unique. It is in the heart of makati city. You would noticed that the fee is very expensive. If you have a insurance card it is a little bit convenient however not all of the medical insurance is being accompanied. It has a lot of options for restaurant. Cute doctors and nurse to be specific. Friendly and accomodating. -

More expensive than The Medical City in the short run (office visits) BUT cheaper in the long run. Doctors here are smart, whereas in THe Medical City and other hospitals, they are a few fries short of a Happy Meal. I have seen NINE doctors at other hospitals trying to save money. I spent THOUSANDS of pesos trying to get cured and was sick for SEVEN MONTHS!!! I think the doctors were misdiagnosing me to keep me coming back. I went to see a doctor here ONE TIME and my seven months of sickness was gone within a couple of weeks. THANK YOU for being smart! -

I would like to extend my gratitude to the staff of 6 Circular for taking good care of my husband during his confinement. Esp. to Joey, who with his ready smile made sure that hubby and I were comfortable, that we had our newspapers daily, and that our beddings were always clean; to Nurses Riza and Dawn who were quick and attentive in managing my hubbys condition when he suffered from chills caused by high fever and to Ms. Joan and Dr. Salvador who were quick to respond; to our attending physicians Dr. Nazareth, Dr. Ocampo, and Dr. Wenceslao who, with their sense of humor, clearly and thoroughly explained my husbands condition and test results; to Dr. Jay Dy and Dr. Vergara who patiently answered all my queries and all the resident doctors. To Dr. Matibag and the emergency staff who attended and assisted us in the ER; to the caring MedTechs who were patiently trying their best not to hurt my hubby salamat po talaga. To Aljo for asssting us with our bills, lastly, to the cleaning ladies of 6 Circular who made sure everything is neat and clean in our room.My husband and I wish all of you more success in your passionate service to your patients and their family. Thank you for your kindness and warm heart. God bless. -

One year ago, I was in the Philippines, CalalinC, Cayuan, Negros where I had a major heart attack. After staying the night at a local hospital in Bacolod, where my heart stopped (I died), miraculously my heart restarted after two minutes of gavhav my chest hit by a friend (no nurse or doctor and no defibrillator in the room). The next day, I was air evacuated to Makati Medical center, where I received excellent care from Dr. Enrique Campos and the cardiology department (numerous doctors and nurses) who were very professional, kind and caring. I received three stints (one for my left descending aorta - which was 100% blocked). After several days (including cardio therapy), I was discharged and allowed to fly back to the U.S., where my recovery has continued. Extremely thankful to Dr. Campos and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, for saving my life! -
